In collaboration with Just Rights for Children, our Child Protection Unit has been conducting a series of awareness campaigns against child marriage across rural areas and villages of Bankura and Purulia districts. The initiative aims to spark dialogue, strengthen community awareness, and encourage collective responsibility in eradicating this deep-rooted social issue.
These campaigns brought together community leaders, faith representatives, local administration, and youth groups to reaffirm their commitment to building a society where every child can grow, learn, and dream freely—without the shadow of early marriage.
Community Mobilization and Local Impact
The awareness programs were held in multiple villages, where discussions, street plays, and community dialogues were used to spread messages on the harmful effects of child marriage and the importance of education, empowerment, and consent. The events saw enthusiastic participation from parents, teachers, and young girls who pledged to stand against the practice.
Our efforts have drawn the attention of local media, highlighting the growing momentum of this movement.

About the Campaign:
MANT with support from Just Rights for Children has been actively working across West Bengal to raise awareness against child marriage, especially during major community and religious gatherings. Through participatory dialogue, street campaigns, and collaborations with faith leaders and local administrations, MANT continues to advocate for a child marriage-free society where every girl can live with dignity, education, and opportunity.
Continuing the Commitment
Through these campaigns, MANT continues its mission to protect child rights and promote social awareness through community participation. By working alongside faith-based groups, administrative bodies, and civil society partners, we aim to ensure that no child’s future is compromised by early marriage.
