Problems We Address

We stand together to fight these problems of India

269 million people in India are still
struggling to live with a daily earning
of less than $13 per month
186 million females in India still
cannot read & write in
any language
2.5 million people die every year in India due to poor quality & lack of healthcare services

Two-third of Indians still live in poverty. 69% of the Indian population lives on an earning less than $2 a day. Over 30% of the population survives on earning less than $1 per day. This not only gives India the tag of one of the poorest countries in the world but impacts much deeper.

As per NABARD, the average earning of rural India is a mere Rs 298 per day. This is due to a lack of proper knowledge and skills to utilize available resources to grow their income.

Due to lack of money, poor people are struggling every day to feed their family with a well-balanced diet. This is leaving our youth malnourished and weak.

80% of the rural areas in India do not have proper medical care facility. And rural people cannot afford to go to cities for medical treatment. This is leading to deaths even of curable diseases today.

We believe that the empowerment of these socially discriminated or marginalized people in rural India will bring about the development of our country as a whole.

Anti-Tobacco Rally in Jhargram organised by MANT
We conduct public health awareness rallies across West Bengal to spread awareness among individual, community and the government to prevent and reduce the use of all forms of tobacco, through multi-sectoral participation in tobacco control. Through our programs, we make people aware of the prevailing COTPA 2003 act and help the local administration in its implementation at ground zero. This has helped 5 Districts, 33 Municipalities and 1 Municipal Corporation to declare public places under their judiciary a “Smoke-Free” zone.
