Tree Plantation Drive With BSF

Tree Plantation Drive With BSF July 17, 2021

MANT Team with BSF for plantation campaign

Amid the Covid situation in the country, illegal deforestation did not stop. India has lost nearly 38.5 thousand hectares of tropical rainforest between 2019 and 2020, which was 14% of India's tree cover.

To address this issue, and as an effort to make up for the loss, we organised a plantation campaign.

On the 15th of July 2021, our team participated in a Tree-Plantation drive with Broder Security Force (BSF). On behalf of 46 SSB battalion at Shalbari in Metli block in BSF premises, we planted saplings of Mango, Blackberry, Jackfruit, Chap, Jarul, Guava, Bahera and many other types of plants. The team of BSF was working under the command of Comd. Parag Sarkar.

The event was reported on a Hindi national daily Bharat Darpan.

We planted more than 300 plants with support from the BSF. And we plan to keep conducting this drive in many other places in future on a regular basis.
