Our Work.
Infectious Disease Control
Protecting tribal communities through awareness, early diagnosis, and targeted interventions against infectious diseases.
Infectious Disease Control: Safeguarding Tribal Communities through Awareness and Early Intervention
We are dedicated to controlling infectious diseases and safeguarding the health of tribal communities. Infectious diseases pose a significant threat to marginalized populations, particularly those residing in the eastern and north-eastern parts of India. Through our comprehensive campaigns and targeted interventions, we strive to raise awareness, promote early diagnosis, and reduce human-animal interfaces to protect the well-being of tribal communities.
Empowering Healthy Beginnings: Our Purpose and Urgent Mission
Program Goal
To ensure safe pregnancies and healthy births within tribal communities by providing accessible maternal and neonatal healthcare, education, and support systems tailored to their unique needs.
Need for the Program
In marginalized communities, limited access to healthcare and cultural support leaves mothers and newborns vulnerable to health complications. Addressing these gaps is essential for fostering healthy families, reducing maternal and infant mortality, and supporting sustainable community well-being.
Activities We Do
Campaign on Anti-microbial Resistance and One Health: Preserving Effective Treatments
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global health concern that affects vulnerable populations, including tribal communities. Our awareness campaigns educate individuals about the responsible use of antibiotics and the importance of following prescribed treatment regimens. We also promote the One Health approach, which recognizes the interconnections between human, animal, and environmental health. By fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, veterinarians, and environmental experts, we work towards preventing the emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections.
Early Diagnosis and Reporting of Mysterious Ailments: Prompt Action for Better Outcomes
Detecting infectious diseases early is crucial for effective treatment and prevention. In tribal areas, where healthcare access may be limited, we emphasize the importance of early diagnosis. Through our initiatives, we strive to improve healthcare infrastructure, train healthcare workers, and raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of common infectious diseases. Additionally, we actively encourage the early reporting of mysterious ailments, ensuring that any potential outbreaks or emerging infections are identified promptly and appropriate measures are taken to contain them.
Reduction of Human-Animal Interfaces: Mitigating Disease Transmission
Tribal communities often have close interactions with animals, which can increase the risk of infectious disease transmission. At MANT, we implement strategies to reduce human-animal interfaces in tribal areas. This includes promoting hygiene practices, implementing animal vaccination programs, and raising awareness about zoonotic diseases. By addressing these critical points of contact, we aim to minimize the risk of disease transmission and protect the health of both humans and animals.
