Dr Nirmalya Mukherjee
Director
He is a professional social worker with over 20 years of experience in health and development. Holding an MSW, MPH, and PhD, he oversees projects in tobacco control, health services for tribal communities, ICT for adolescents, and community media, while also leading MANT’s research initiatives.
Anirban Roy
Asst. Director – Administration
With over 12 years in community development, he brings expertise in project management, community mobilization, and administration. A graduate in Environment Management from IISWBM, Kolkata, he has led initiatives in livelihood, health, and environmental awareness across West Bengal and Northeast India since 2015.
Research Wing
Paramita is very passionate and dedicated towards her work. She has both academic and research experience. Before joining MANT, she was a Faculty at the Department of Economics at Shri Shikshayatan College, Kolkata. She has completed her Ph.D. from the Department of Economics, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Prior to that, she attained her M.Phil. from Centre for the Study of Regional Development (CSRD), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Some of her research work have been published and cited in peer reviewed journals and edited books. She has also presented many papers in various National and International Seminars. She had also been awarded with ‘Best Paper’ awards for two of her research papers. She has almost ten years of research experience. From meticulous planning and on-boarding to seamless deployment, execution, and thorough evaluation, he is a reliable and dedicated end-to-end implementer. He takes pride in his ability to replicate successful execution in different geographies and contexts with diverse teams, demonstrating adaptability and a deep understanding of cultural nuances. He stands as a seasoned professional in the realm of partner enablement, training operations, capability building, and content management. He has successfully driven performance solutions in diverse industries, leaving an indelible mark on organizational efficiency. Armed with a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set, he views every project as a learning opportunity, a chance to refine and enhance the offerings. His philosophy is rooted in a collaborative approach that places partner and people-centricity at its core. Dr. Sajda Khatoon is the newest addition to MANT Research Team. She is working as a Research Officer. Her polite and introverted behavior actually does not go well with the knowledge she has in her field. She is a Ph.D holder in Geography with UGC NET/JRF-SRF. Apart from work, she loves to consume content from cosmology. We wish her career shines like the stars she gazes up to in the sky one day. Dr. Suraya Roy is a dedicated Adjunct Faculty member and a Research Officer at our organization. She has a strong educational background, holding a Master’s degree in Economics from Burdwan University and currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Calcutta University. Her passion for learning and research is evident through her ongoing doctoral studies. As an Adjunct Faculty, Suraya brings her expertise in economics to the classroom, enriching the learning experience for students. She leverages her in-depth knowledge of the subject to engage students and foster critical thinking. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Suraya embraces various hobbies. In her spare time, she immerses herself in the world of literature, indulging in reading books that broaden her perspectives. She also finds solace in playing the esraj, an enchanting musical instrument, which allows her to express her creativity and connect with the melodies. Additionally, Suraya has a keen interest in photography, capturing moments and scenes through her lens, showcasing her artistic flair. With her dedication to academia, pursuit of knowledge, and diverse range of hobbies, Suraya Roy brings a unique perspective and enriches the learning environment at our organization. Sulagna Mukherjee holds an MSc in Statistics and has honed her analytical skills through active participation in multiple research projects. As a Research Officer at MANT, she applies statistical methods to analyze data and provide insights for research projects. Sulagna is known for her sincerity, curiosity, and eagerness to learn new developments in the field of statistics. Alongside her academic pursuits, she has trained in classical dance and Rabindra Sangeet. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and singing, combining her love for the arts with her passion for data analysis. Debasmita Maji is a Research Officer at CPHR-MANT, known for her strong observational and data analysis skills. She actively contributes her ideas and insights in the field of public health and is passionate about learning new things. Her dedication and hard work make her an invaluable asset to the team. Outside of work, Debasmita enjoys watching films and online content, and is an avid cricket enthusiast. Her blend of curiosity and passion for research drives her to continually expand her knowledge and make meaningful contributions to public health. Saptarshi Basu Roy Choudhury is a Research Officer at CPHR-MANT, the research wing of MANT, with a strong academic background in Economics. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics from the University of Calcutta and an MA and M.Phil in International Trade and Development from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. His research interests focus on developmental and environmental issues like education, health, and climate change. With years of experience in industry and policy research, Saptarshi supports various public health and development projects, contributing to knowledge dissemination and stakeholder communication. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, music, and spending time with family and friends. Ms. Pritha Das is a Research Associate at MANT with a strong educational background in Anthropology. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Calcutta and a Master’s degree from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Pritha is a quick learner who is passionate about her work. With excellent observation and listening skills, she contributes valuable insights to her role. In her spare time, Pritha enjoys painting, watching documentaries, and exploring travel vlogs. Her diverse interests reflect her curiosity and love for exploration. Meet Ms. Tanya Sharma, a diligent Research Associate at CPHR Mant. Graduating with the second highest marks in M. Sc. Biotechnology from Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi, she brings a strong academic background to her role. Tanya is dedicated to her work while also prioritizing a healthy work-life balance. With a passion for reading fictional novels and a keen interest in Indian history and mythology, she enjoys sketching, cooking, and spending quality time with her children in her free moments. Tanya’s diverse interests and dedication make her a valuable member of our team.
Tobacco Control Wing
Introducing Samarpita Sanyal, our dynamic Project Coordinator for Tobacco Control, with a stellar achievement of securing First Class in MSW. Known for her boundless energy and exceptional PR skills, Samarpita plays a crucial role in our initiatives. Outside of work, she finds solace in music and indulges her imagination through storybooks. With her passion for social welfare and vibrant personality, Samarpita adds invaluable vigor to our team. Barsha is a hard-working and confident social worker who has completed post-graduation in Social Work (MSW) from Vidyasagar University and her graduation in Psychology from Calcutta University. For the last two years she has been working as a Regional Co-ordinator under Tobacco Control Project that has been implemented by MANT in the State of West Bengal through System establishment, building capacities and enforcement of legislation of different stakeholders. She has a prior two years of work experience in the field of Child Rights and Research studies. Child Protection Wing
Bandana Mondal is a dedicated professional with a passion for education and social betterment. Holding a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Human Physiology from Presidency University and a B.Ed. from Burdwan University, she serves as the Senior Coordinator-Admin at MANT. Bandana manages administrative tasks, content generation, project documentation, and coordination of the community radio station Nityananda Janavani (91.2 FM). She also contributes to projects addressing child marriage, trafficking, and sexual abuse. Her previous roles include Field Animator and Educator at Nature Environment and Wildlife Society. Bandana’s skills include office management, content creation, and social media handling. Her hobbies are singing, trekking, and engaging in social education activities.
Anti-TB Wing
Introducing Subhankar Saha, our dedicated Project Coordinator. Subhankar holds a Master’s degree in Anthropology, specializing in Social Cultural Anthropology, from the University of Calcutta. He cleared the UGC-NET JRF in Anthropology in 2017 and was awarded a fellowship from UGC. Subhankar has extensive experience in research, having worked as a Research Assistant on an ICSSR-funded project on indigenous people and later as a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Calcutta in 2018. Known for his passion for fieldwork, Subhankar enjoys working in remote areas and engaging with people on the ground. In his leisure time, he loves reading detective stories, watching sports, and participating in quiz shows. His enthusiasm and expertise make him a valuable asset to our team. Meet Ajoy Kumar Mandi, our dedicated Block Co-ordinator. After completing his Higher Secondary education, Ajoy received a student scholarship and had the significant opportunity to participate in a University football tournament during his second year. In his role, Ajoy assists village-level workers, collects data, and coordinates with the district coordinator, ensuring seamless operations and accurate information flow. Ajoy is always on the lookout for opportunities to improve and achieve greatness. In his free time, he enjoys playing football and reading books. His drive and enthusiasm make him a valuable asset to our team. Meet Pran Krishna Mandi, our dedicated Block Coordinator. Pran graduated with a degree in Political Science and has a strong background in sports, having represented his school in a district-level All-Bengal school football competition. In his role, Pran assists and supervises village-level workers and reports to the District Coordinator. His passion for sports extends beyond football to include track and field activities. When he’s not on the field or working, he enjoys reading storybooks. His enthusiasm for both his work and hobbies makes him an integral part of our team. Meet Behula Tudu, a vibrant and dedicated ‘Village Level Field Worker’ of our team. Having completed her higher secondary education in Humanities, Behula’s primary responsibilities include data collection and survey work. Her energetic nature and love for interacting with people make her excel in these tasks. In addition to her professional duties, Behula enjoys performing traditional Santali Dance and takes pride in cooking delicious meals for her family. Her enthusiasm and multifaceted talents bring a unique and enriching dynamic to our team. Meet Manimala Mandi, a dedicated ‘Village Level Field Worker’ at our organization. During her student life, she achieved 2nd place at the state level in a Santali song program. Manimala’s primary responsibility is collecting essential data for research work. She values spending time with her family and is known for her resilience and strong will. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, walking, and engaging in various household tasks. Manimala’s commitment and tenacity make her an invaluable member of our team. Meet Moumita Hansda, our dedicated Village Level Field Worker. Moumita holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and plays a crucial role in collecting data from the village, ensuring accurate and comprehensive information for our projects. A simple and passionate individual, Moumita loves to perform traditional Santhali music and dance. In her leisure time, she enjoys listening to music. Her cultural contributions and dedication to her work make her a valued member of our team. Burulukui Besra is a Village Level Field Worker with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts in Education and a B.Ed. degree. An inter-school track and field champion, Burulukui brings the same dedication and spirit to her work, collecting valuable data from the field. A simple person at heart, she loves to interact with people, which aids in building strong community relationships. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality moments with her family and her little kid. Her approachable nature and commitment to her role make her an indispensable part of our team.
Prantik - Garments
Pramita has ten years of work experience as a faculty in several Fashion Technology Institutes. She also has more than four years of Industrial exposure as a designer and merchandiser. She has done Post graduate diploma in Fashion and Clothing Technology (FCT). In her spare time, you can find Pramita creating fabulous designs and paintings, shopping to decorate her home interiors. Media Wing
Kaushik is the person responsible for building and maintaining our visibility on the internet. He is the Digital Marketing & Public Relation Executive at MANT. He knows best how to reach the right audience online with your content to meet the objectives of the organisation. He has an MBA degree in marketing from Jadavpur University and is highly knowledgeable in online marketing practices. Basudeb is working as a Community Video Producer. He used to work as a freelancer earlier and has gathered a good experience on video and photography. Here at MANT he has developed a good outreach at grassroots as working in close connection with tribal people of Purulia. He coordinates with field level, monitor project plans, organize trainings-workshops and provides necessary inputs at the field level for effective implementation of the programmes. As per his education is concern he has graduated in Mass Communication & Journalism from Calcutta University and has completed Post Graduation in Film Studies from Jadavpur University. Finance Wing
He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Pal & Roy Chartered Accountants and is assigned as an internal auditor for MANT. He safeguards the financial accountability of MANT. He became an Associate Chartered Accountant in 1989 and a Fellow in 2005. In 2009, he also qualified as an Information System Auditor from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and again cleared as a Certified GST Practitioner from the same institute. He specialises in Internal Audit, Management Consultation and has expertise in Direct and Indirect Taxation. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Pal & Roy Chartered Accountants and is assigned as an internal auditor for MANT. He safeguards the financial accountability of MANT.
