Completed doctoral (Ph.D) research work on Tribes in West Bengal, Biswajit Pal has extensive experience of 6 years in the field of research. He has completed his Post Graduation (M.Sc.) in Agriculture and Rural Development and has recently submitted his doctoral research work (thesis paper) in the same subject on the topic "Tribes in West Bengal". Presently he is working as the Assistant Director -Research and M&E at MANT and is responsible for all the research work related to public health conducted by the Organization including Research Planning, Research Proposal Writing, Sampling, Data Collection, Data interpretation, Report Writing and Publication of Research Data. He was appointed as a Guest Teacher in the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of West Bengal state University. He was also associated with another organization called the Development Research Communication and Services Centre (DRSCS) as Project Organiser from 2011 to 2012.He has worked for promoting Self Help Groups (SHGs) and coordinating trainings and capacity building exercises for the target group. The Research works undertaken by him includes: 1) Study on Constraints of Agriculture in Barasat-I Block, North 24 Parganas. 2) A study on Socio-Economic Aspects of Some tribes in West Bengal, India. 3) Study on Maternal Health Status in West Bengal. 4) Study on Health Profile of Beedi workers in West Bengal. 5) Study on Behaviour of Meat Consumers in West Bengal. 6) Study on Socio-economic Status of women engaged in Floriculture Activities. 7) Study on Compliance level of Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Product Act, 2003 in % districts of West Bengal (Kolkata, Howrah, Bankura, West Medinipur, and Purulia). Currently he is pursuing PhD in Economics from Visva-Bharati. He has completed M.Phil. and M.A. in Economics from Visva-Bharati. He has three and half years of experience in Research and different Programmatic areas in development sector. He was worked as Researcher in Agro-Economic Research Centre sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. He was part of multiple state level research projects and co-authored the report of the study “Impact of National Food Security Mission on Input Use”. He was engaged as Programme Manager in Oxfam India Project in a reputed NGO in Bihar.
